Buggy For Old Dog

Nathan and Tish are getting older. Tish gets tired and sore when he walks too far and usually needs carrying home. At 7kgs I find him heavy to carry so I bought him a buggy. He loves the buggy and so does Nathan. Here they are having a rest after we got home from a walk.

  • Absolutely superb. Recommend this buggy with 5 stars. Excellent for using with one or two small dogs if you want to go walking.
  • Light and easy to push on range of terrains, including grass.  Has 12 inch air filled tyres.
  • Surprisingly light to tip front up for going over gutters etc.
  • Seat easily folds down completely flat to give plenty of room for the dogs. As you can see it comfortably holds two.
  • Straight forward to fold up to go in the car. Is quite big folded up but does fit in the boot. Lifting weight is heavy but manageable.
  • Rain cover goes on easily, though you have to buy that separately.
  • Has basket under the seat that I use to hold my raincoat or jacket, poop bags etc.
  • The handle can be set at different heights to make pushing comfortable.
  • It controls easily with one hand so leaves free hand for lead control of other dogs.
  • I bought it online from Smith City. It was expensive but well worth the cost for anyone whose dog is less mobile but you still want to go walking ( or running) over a range of terrains.
  • Tip: should you buy one, look on youtube for a video as to how to set it up when it arrives. The booklet that came with it was hopeless.
  • Tip 2: check the tyres, as mine had to be pumped up when I got it. Uses a car tyre pump so I took the tyres off the buggy and took them to the garage and they filled them: 20-22 psi.

Biggest problem with the buggy is that Nathan likes to ride in the buggy too and gets upset when he doesn’t have a turn! Nathan usually loves his walk and easily walks the whole distance but since we have had the buggy, just before we get home he suddenly starts lagging behind and drooping his head as low as he can. He keeps this up until I pick him up and pop him in the buggy with Tish.
